modern country gal I'm slightly biased but man does this opening number rip. Toin it up! Favorite track: Third Wheel.

Nicholas Gentile My favorite aspect of this album is that once the singing's done, we're presented with a mirror image of instrumental versions. The first song is also the last, creating a unified homogenous complete experience for the listener. It's a brilliant way to tie everything together, and, if you're wondering, the music's pretty great too!

Third Wheel 01:49
when you're a third wheel it kinda makes you feel like a tricycle made just for adults youre big, dumb, ugly and cumbersome associated with a bum taking up space in the bike lane everyone thinks you're in the way but a tricycle can't help it was made or that it's ungainly and maybe it stayed way past its welcome it didn't know there's limits to kindness or where to go you can't really blame it for ignorance it was born a tire short with just three rims and a tricycle made just for adults the derision is kinda built right in they can't help but laugh it's like a photograph from a different era a grotesque chimera with no purpose or place in the modern age i'll just ride away i'll just ride away on my tricycle made just for adults even though i'm not one even though i'm not one even though i'm not one of those

Camou 03:06
I never been hunting but I think I'd like to try it Alone in the forest wearin' orange but tryin' to hide it ...with camo Soon's you say you like a thing They got you all pinned up, gotcha under their wing Ain't it nice to be part of a tribe Knowin' what to wear And who you're s'posed to bribe Everybody used to go to a parade Now nobody wants to show, and be out there on display …we’re all afraid Soon's you say you like a thing They got you all pinned up, gotcha wearin' a ring Ain't it nice to be part of a tribe Knowin' all the rules, and who you're s'posed to hide I'm just me, I'm just me Sippin' things and bidin' my time I'm just me, I'm just me Don't know the plan, but I'ma be just fine Got better things comin' down the line I never been hunting but I think I'd like to try it Wouldn't kill a single thing but I think I'd like the quiet ...and the camo

Two little birdies were lookin’ for a worm Was early morning, even early for a bird One pecked the other, she said why’d you do that for It’s what our brother did done to me before That little birdie did not like how it felt Seein' his sister’s beak begin to melt He searched the whole yard and underneath the hay He found two worms but he didn’t eat that day Late in the evening when everything was dark She felt uneasy when a pup began to bark He squeezed her tightly underneath his wing He would protect her from just about anything Here comes a bullfrog spittin’ his bull spit The two little birdies would have none of it They dropped off a package expressly for him Fresh, hot, white- they gave exactly two shits They did some warblin’, imperfect harmony And of course some warrin’ about who gets which tree They had each other so it’s hard to understand Why that one birdie flied away in the end

about

This EP was written during the Spring and Summer of 2020, in the early throes of the pandemic. My trusty interface conked out during the final stage of recording (after years of service for which I am very grateful!) and I was able to complete the finishing touches with a first generation iRig.

credits

released December 4, 2020

I wrote, sang, produced, and played all of the songs on this album. I would like to thank the following people for providing the necessary equipment, without which this album would not exist:

Jerome Galvin - Roland TD-11 drum kit
Nicholas Gentile - mandolin, guitar pedals, MIDI keyboard, JBL Flip 4
Bert Jerred - the all-saving iRig, and any cord, adapter, or vote of confidence I needed on demand
Philip Gentile - 5 string bass, custom-made tube amplifier and speakers
Pat Galvin - 4 string bass, the Maraudacaster
Katerina Porcari - MacBook, acoustic guitar
Joanne Porcari - cajón, djembe, laptop accessories
The Super at the building on Washington and Atlantic who let me take a microphone stand from the trash

For electric guitar I played a Yamaha Revstar RS502T in Bowden Green, thank you Dawana for the great deal on it!

The instrumental remix of Third Wheel was created for the original soundtrack of Anton Porcari's short film Tenant. Always great to collaborate with you, Anton!

Thank you also to Mumi, Nick, Steve Savitz, Eli Raskin, and Rich Hamilton for their feedback and encouragement during the songwriting and recording process.

This album is dedicated to my brother Jerome. Love you, Jer <3

And thank you for pacing me, Lord! :D
